PAUMCS stands for Professional Administrators of United Methodist Connectional Structure.
What We Do
United Methodist Church secretaries provide critical support to congregations across the denomination. Many secretaries are the link that keeps churches functioning well. They provide critical administrative support, ongoing communication between individuals, committees, and constituencies, and continuity in their congregations.
The Mission of PAUMCS Middle Tennessee Chapter
The mission of PAUMCS Middle Tennessee Chapter is to provide a fundamental base for the fellowship and unity of its members in order to provide spiritual enrichment, individual growth, professional development, continuing education and to promote the United Methodist Connection.

History of PAUMCS
The Professional Administrators of the United Methodist Connectional Structure was organized on April 14, 1982 in Dallas, TX. Legislation was adopted at the 1988 General Conference stating the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) has the authority and responsibility: “To provide guidance and consultation for continuing education of church secretaries, including establishment of training and certification programs, and to provide assistance to the Professional Administrators of the United Methodist Connectional Structure.” (Book of Discipline 2008, Paragraph 807.19)
